Icrontic’s community: the first decade

Icrontic’s community: the first decade

Keith "Mortin" Whitsitt, in the room Icrontic started in

On August 8, 2000 Keith “Mortin” Whitsitt posted his first article on ApusHardware.com. Five months later, ApusHardware became Icrontic, and the rest, as they say, is history. A decade later, the community Keith started with a server in his closet still stands and several of its earliest members still grace our site.

Few communities before or after us will have the honor of celebrating 10 years together. We have watched so many members grow up, start families and careers,  and pass the many milestones that mark a life.

On this day I would like to say cheers to those that joined before I did and those that just joined this year; to those who have shared their ups and downs; to those who have spent hours, days, or years of their life supporting and contributing to this site; and to those we have lost along the way, including Keith, Bart Williams, Patrick (redoulent), and Chris (Spike09). Every one of you had a hand in this moment.

May we all be here to celebrate 10 more.

Simple words cannot express my gratitude for everything Icrontic has done for me, and what this community means to me.

10, 20, 30 years more, I plan on being here until the end of things, and I hope everyone else does the same.
  11. GHoosdum
GHoosdum I joined Icrontic shortly after it began, as it was a center of support for certain Abit motherboard models, and I've been around ever since. I'm not going away.

    Cheers, everyone.
  12. Cliff_Forster
Cliff_Forster When I met Thrax on twitter about two or so years ago, the funny thing was that Icrontic, the name was instantly familiar to me, but I was not 100% sure why? When I saw the I and the hat, I recognized it immediately.

Icrontic is just one of those sites, and frankly its one of those names that stick with you. To continued health and prosperity.
