Pomplamoose: Give a book, get an album

The popular YouTube cover band Pomplamoose has released a holiday album—but rather than sell it, they’ve chosen to turn it into a charity event. Fans who donate a book to the Richmond Book Drive through Amazon will get a digital copy of the album for their contribution.

Pomplamoose is popular for their “Video Song” videos, in which they attempt to show the footage of all of the actual instrument playing that goes into each track, and for the smooth jazzy vocals in every cover and original track. (Ed. note: They are also both outrageously attractive people.)

Check out this awesome sample holiday song. Details of the charity are given by Pomplamoose at the end of the video.

    Hipster.

This is very cool. Fantastic music, and a really cool concept for videos.

Their cover of 'Single Ladies' is quite a bit better than the original.

I would make some relevant hipster jokes but they make some pretty obscure references. You guys probably would get any of them.
  12. Annes
Annes Awesome concept. I really don't like their Deck the Halls but I think I may do this just to check out the rest of the album (and, you know, do good for kids and shit.)

  15. NLichtman
NLichtman I've known about Pomplamoose for a little over a year now. I'm subscribed to them on YouTube and when I saw the commercials on TV, I almost pissed myself.

  17. MAGIC

  18. BuddyJ
    BuddyJ Works for Ke$ha
  19. GHoosdum
GHoosdum Somewhat off topic, but apparently Pomplamoose has been hired by Hyundai for their holiday advertising campaign. Odd to see them on television.
  20. MAGIC
MAGIC Are hipsters allowed to sell out?
  21. CB
CB Selling out isn't cool now, but next year it will be.
  22. Cliff_Forster
Cliff_Forster Mike Rowe is a much better car salesman, that is for sure, if I have to see that Hyundai commercial one more time, I swear I am going to find an ugly holiday sweater and burn it!

I agree on that one point, but I have to say I much prefer Pomplamoose to Ford's "Hey, we're not Toyota!" all-encompassing campaign of late.
