Icrontic

It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally at a point where we can pay freelance authors for published content on Icrontic.

This is an exciting advancement for us, and something we’ve been wanting (and needing) to do for years. Major thanks, deep respect, and big kudos to the tireless volunteer authors who made this site what it is. Many people have devoted thousands of hours of their lives as volunteers to provide you, the readers of Icrontic, with interesting and compelling content. They did it for you. From our Writing for Icrontic page:

Icrontic is a site run on an engine made of pure passion. Since our humble beginnings, it has been forged in the fires of blood, sweat, and tears from dozens of volunteers, all who did it for the love of the community.

That about sums it up. Pure passion.

Now, in addition to the following awesome perks:

  • Fantastic exposure for you as an author
  • A great place to help bolster your portfolio
  • A large and engaged audience
  • A troll-free community to discuss your content with
  • Insider access to the tech and gaming industries, and key players in each
  • A large social media presence that your content will be shared with
  • Opportunities for press access to major trade shows such as E3, CES, SIGGRAPH, and more

You can get paid actual cash money as well.

If you’re interested in writing for Icrontic, here’s what we’re looking for:

Icrontic Tech and Gaming:

We are paying for high-quality, original guides, analysis, and reviews for Windows, Apple, and console platforms. If you see some exciting tech news and want to write an in-depth analysis of it (more than copypasta of press releases, please), we want to talk to you.

Icrontic Life:

Consider Icrontic Life to be a blog about anything cool that you’re doing. Our community is made up of people that do awesome things, and we want you to write about it. If you want to write about your cool job, write about beer, write about music, or post a video or drawing you made, we’re interested. Share your hobbies and passions with like-minded people and make new friends.

If you’re interested, continue on to Writing for Icrontic for contact information.

Onward and upward, Icrontians!

ardichoke Troll-free? man... I've been misreading it for the past two years. I thought this place was supposed to be troll-friendly. o_O

Cliff_Forster As a guy who has tried to approach the regular writing I will openly admit to not getting to the quantity or quality I would have liked. I would whole heartedly recommend anyone thinking about this to ask themselves... "what is my niche?"

I spent allot of time trying to figure out, okay, what kind of writer am I? Can I be a serious journalist, am I an editorial writer, am I a story teller, am I a research guy, can I do reviews? I was lacking focus and I stressed myself out to the point where it stopped being fun for me.

So ask yourself, am I a facts / research kind of guy/gal, do I have opinions too grand to no share, do I have an analytical mind for setting up a review process, am I a social leader that knows how to generate discussion?

If you can figure that out for yourself, writing for Icrontic can be incredible fun.
